Interview || Jo Hooper || Chats about the challenges faced by pro-dancers.

Jo Hooper has worked as a professional dancer for over a decade and has danced all over the world.

I have worked with Jo a few times over the years and one of the things I love about her is that despite her incredible CV and the fact that she has secured such a huge variety of contracts over the years she has never changed. She’s remained humble and is a really lovely girl to have in the team.

Jo is laid back and relaxed and takes everything in her stride.

We meet a lot of dancers, especially when they first start out, that think they have to be loud and in your face to get noticed but in reality that’s not the case. Jo is flying the flag for the dancers who simply get on with it! I’ve never known Jo to be the loudest in the room but I have known her to be the most talented! She’s consistently getting the work because she lets her talent and her dance speak for itself and trust me, this girl can dance!

I love workng with Jo and I know that she will inspire a whole new generation of dancers with her dance school.

Over her years of experience she has faced some challenges along the way and in this video she talks about some of the biggest ones.

I’m amazed at some of the things Jo tells me as it’s hard to believe that dancers have to face these kinds of things sometimes.

Jo now runs a dance school of her own and I know it’s going to be a huge success. If you would like to find out more about her dance school, Studio J, then check out her website by clicking on the picture below.

Jo is also currently looking to hire an assistant teacher so any dancers out there who are great with young children and would like a bit of extra work, even if it’s between contracts, then get in touch now at

In the video we also chat all about Jo’s future plans and how she always envisaged ending up exactly where she is now.

I want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Jo for coming to talk to us. I love hearing dancers’ stories and I’m really excited to see where Studio J will be in 5 years time! Thanks again Jo!

I hope you enjoy the interview and just remember that we all face the same challenges and worries as dancers. We’re in this together and if you ever need anyone to talk to then be sure to get in touch.
