Sometimes as a freelance dancer you see dance jobs that perhaps don’t feel worth the effort or maybe you do a dance job and think back that perhaps you didn’t enjoy it as much as you thought. Well I’m here to tell you that every single dance job is worth it!
If you are working as a freelance dancer and taking bit jobs here and there and managing your own career and your own dance path then first let me say, well done you! It’s not easy and I’m impressed with anyone who has the courage to take that control and go for it! This doesn’t necessarily mean that you only take on one day events, sometimes the dance jobs can be longer contracts like cruise ships or Disneyland for example. Whatever path you have chosen to take and whatever jobs you are doing you need to make sure that you are always making the most out of them.
Every job you do whether it is one year or one night presents a new opportunity for you to build up your portfolio.
In the video above I go through what I think are the top 5 things you should always remember to do with every dance job. Things like getting paid (amazing how many people forget to chase their pay!), gathering photos and videos and being a grateful dancer that people will want to work with again.
If you think I’ve missed any important tips then be sure to get in touch and let me know. Also if you have any questions about dance jobs and how to make the most out of them then please feel free to contact us. If we don’t know the answer then we’ll do our best to find someone who does!
